Question: What happens to materials you remove from the library's collection?
Our librarians withdraw items from the collection when they become grubby or damaged, or when we have purchased more copies of a bestseller than can fit on our shelves once it is no longer in high demand. To give these discarded materials another life, we sell them to Dream Books, a local small business that resells used library books and recycles those that are too damaged to offer for sale. The library receives money back from Dream Books, which helps fund library programs and materials.
