HOLDS AND RE-OPENING INFORMATION
Answered By: Gina Scioscia Last Updated: Oct 16, 2020 Views: 2
Thanks for your message. Unfortunately, we had to cancel all holds on this title when the DVD release was canceled earlier this year. We sent out the following message to all affected patrons at the time, but it might have been filtered as spam. I just checked, and unfortunately the situation remains the same at Amazon. I'm sorry we can't get this one for you!

You are receiving this message because you placed a hold request on a pre-order of one of three movies recently released by Amazon Studios: “Beautiful Boy,” “Late Night,” or “Brittany Runs a Marathon.” We regret that we will not be able to acquire DVD copies of these movies as planned. According to our supplier, it appears that Amazon has recently made a decision not to release DVD editions for their original content, keeping these movies available exclusively through the Amazon Prime subscription streaming service. This has been the case for some time with content from other streaming services, including Netflix and Hulu. Amazon has not made an official statement about this decision, so it is possible that these movies may at some point become available on DVD. In the meantime, we are removing the titles from our catalog and canceling hold requests.
Please note that, while DVDs of some of these movies can show up for sale from second hand sellers on sites like Amazon.com, we have determined that these are either not formatted for our DVD playback region or are non-authorized bootleg copies. We will purchase legitimate DVD copies of these movies as they become available. We apologize for any inconvenience.
