I would like to know when you will next be opening substitute librarian positions at Boulder Public Library. I know that when positions are available, they are posted on the City of Boulder job website, but I am wondering if you have any indication how soon such positions might be needed. I am currently a full-time librarian at the Poudre River Public Library District in Fort Collins, and have many years experience doing all aspects of reader advisory and reference. We own a condo in Boulder and are considering moving into it full-time at some point soon. Ideally when that happens, I would like to continue doing library reference work part-time and my hours of availability would be extremely flexible. Please forward this request to the person best able to respond to my inquiry. I appreciate your assistance. Thanks, Diane P. Tuccillo

Answer

Hello Diane,

Thank you for your interest in a substitute position with BPL. Unfortunately, we just completed a large substitute hire earlier this year, so it will probably be at least six more months before we post additional positions (depending on a number of factors including how many current subs are actively accpeting shifts, the total number of shifts we need covered, and sub flexibility). When we post new positions, they will be available on the City of Boulder job posting site (https://bouldercolorado.gov/human-resources/jobs).

If you want to follow up in a few months, you can contact me directly at mcclellandt@boulderlibrary.org
