I have used Lifelong Learning-both Gale and Atomic Training. When Atomic Training was discontinued, there were links to 2 sites which were recommended. One was Khan Academy; the other I don't remember. I just used the link on the LL page. Now those links are not on the page. What was the other site that was listed on the LL page? Thanks.

Answer

Hello,

Thanks for writing in. We did discontinue Atomic Training because it got very little usage.  Depending on what you want to learn there are many free computer courses available through the following venues. We are in the process of updating our Lifelong Learning pages, so these websites will be listed there very soon.  You can currently see Digital Learn, GCFLearn and Techboomers listed under the new Technology box in Lifelong Learning page  Here is the direct link:

Also, again depending on your needs, there are some free courses through the following.:

  • coursera.org (many but not all are free, you have option to add a certificate for low cost)
  • edx.org (many but not all are free, you can add a certificate validation for low cost)
  • Khan Academy
  • udacity.com (very tech oriented, many free courses)

We'll have these on our new page very soon. Might you tell me more about the types of courses/training you are interested in pursuing? That will help me tailor your interests to what might be available.

Sincerely
Gina
