Got a Question? Ask Us!
Q. Hi, I have a history project on Harriet TUbman and her work on the underground railroad and am wondering if you could help me find some
I am a 7th grader working on my NHD(National History Day) Project.
Thanks so much for contacting us about your History Day topic. I'm sorry we are just getting to this now, as we were closed yesterday for Staff Training.
Would you like to come into the library for an appointment with a librarian? If so, I'd be happy to set up a time with you next week after school. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org or 303-441-4104 (I am off Sunday and Monday)
In the mean time, let me direct you to some sources in our print and digital collections (the digital collections will require a library card number--if you don't have one, you can get a temp card by registering here until you can come in for a full card).
From our library catalog, here are some print books:
From our library databases I have attached several entries for background information (you will need to get the temporary number to access). There are of course many more resources in the databases that we can help you find, (please check out our social studies guide) as well as web resources such as the following from Library of Congress http://www.loc.gov/rr/program/bib/tubman/
We're happy to help you find some more resources for primary and secondary sources, and assist you in your research process. We are also hosting a Research Rendezvous for National History Day--on November 10th Tuesday from 3:30-7:30 where you can get help from local historians, librarians, and teachers.
Let me know if you would like to meet to do further research.
Best of luck in your project.
