Q

I have a research project about Bouder Dushanbe tea house. I only found one book in BPL book shelf. Could you help me to find more information?

1. Where else to go to collect hitory about this tea house. (Carnegie branch library?)
2. Is there anyone I can meet to hear about this tea house?

3. What kind of literature I can find and where?

Thank you very much.

Hello

If you check the BPL website and scope your search to Carnegie, you can see that we have quite a few materials on the Teahouse, including a photographs, a book,

a collection of Sister City materials that includes on the Teahouse: Boxes 3 and 4: Construction and dedication photographs, as well as documents and newpaper clippings pertaining to the Boulder-Dushanbe Teahouse. This collection has not yet been fully organized.

And quite a few interviews including several with the men who constructed the Teahouse. You can listen to some of these online, others you will see have no link to the online collection, but you can listen to them in the library. Ones that are videotaped you can watch in the library. The one that you will probably find most interesting, which is of the men who contructed the Teahouse, has no online transcript, but I see that it has been translated and we have a paper transcript. That is the Oral history interview with Mirpul Mirakhmadov, Manon Khaidarov and Abdoukodir Rakhimov and is filed under Mirakhmadov. Here is the interview to listen to:

Also, the Teahouse has a brochure that they hand out about the history of the building.
